Expecting & New Parents

Everything you need to know for your baby's first year

Newborn Visit Checklist

Your baby's first pediatric visits are crucial for ensuring healthy development. Here's what to expect:

Before Birth

  • Choose your pediatrician during the third trimester
  • Book a complimentary Meet and Greet visit
  • Verify insurance coverage for newborn care

Please Note: Meet and Greet visits are not required to establish care at our office. This optional visit allows you to meet with a provider before your baby arrives. For established families, this visit is also not required.

Before booking, we encourage you to review our provider bios to help you choose the right provider for your family. Please schedule with only one provider to ensure availability for all families.

Hospital Visit (Within 24-48 hours of birth)

  • Initial newborn examination
  • Hearing screening
  • Newborn metabolic screening
  • First Hepatitis B vaccine (if not given at birth)

First Office Visit (3-5 days after birth)

  • Weight check and feeding assessment
  • Jaundice screening
  • Discuss sleep safety and SIDS prevention
  • Review newborn care basics

What to Bring to Every Visit

  • Insurance cards and ID
  • List of questions or concerns
  • Feeding and diaper log
  • Any medications or vitamins baby is taking
